Cooperation between GlobalConnect and DB broadband

DB broadband is supporting the German-Danish network operator GlobalConnect in closing gaps in its fiber-optic network. The two sides already successfully completed an initial project in September 2020. DB broadband is a subsidiary of DB Netz AG. It was founded to market free capacities in Deutsche Bahn's fiber-optic network. GlobalConnect operates fiber-optic networks and data centers in Germany and Scandinavia. Specifically, DB broadband leases free capacity in DB's fiber-optic network so that Global-Connect can close a gap in its network in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This initially involves a route between Greifswald and Anklam. GlobalConnect intends to close other gaps in its network with the support of DB broadband.
